Welcome to the LUCERO LAB

We are an enthusiastic and collaborative group of plant ecologists interested in explaining, predicting, and managing patterns of biodiversity and ecosystem functioning in changing ecosystems.

ABOUT

Our interests lie at the intersection of community, population, and restoration ecology; global change biology; and natural resource management.  We apply experimental, observational, and computational approaches at local, regional, and global scales to connect ecological patterns to their underlying processes.  In this context, most of our work aims to explain, predict, and manage how plant communities (and their associated biodiversity and ecosystem functions) shift in response to interacting biotic and abiotic global changes.  Our interests are broad, but we're especially fascinated with biological invasions and native plant restoration in rangelands.  Our ultimate goal is to conserve biodiversity and natural resources for a sustainable future.
